Stormwater / MS4

The City of Lower Burrell is an active participant of the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) / Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) required MS4 program. The term MS4 is simply an acronym that stands for Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System. This is a program set up by the DEP/EPA that aids in helping Pennsylvania meet the Clean Water Act that was established years ago. The main goal of this program is to provide a municipalities with a set of rules and regulations to aid in accomplishing the goals of the Clean Water Act.

This portion of the City of Lower Burrell website will serve as a location to acquire knowledge through documents that are available to residents and businesses, links to other resources, updates on progress of the City of Lower Burrell MS4 Program, and simply provide another outlet in which to communicate with the residents of Lower Burrell of some of the simple ways we can help keep our natural resources clean and vibrant for our children and the community for years to come.

The City of Lower Burrell will be looking for motivated individuals who are interested participating in this movement in the very near future, so keep your eyes open! For any stormwater issues and/or questions, please contact the Street Department.
